Theory of Operation
SteamRecycle uses high-speed mechanical vapor compressors with frequency control to capture low-pressure vapor (around 75°C) from the flash vessel. The vapor is compressed to high-pressure, high-temperature steam (to 145+°C at >5 bar) and returned to the infusion chamber.

Our customer was experiencing delays in maintaining a fleet of pumps used for the transfer of highly abrasive liquid slurry in the production of Hexamethylenediamine (HDMA.) The pumps transferred a combination of Adiponitrile, Hydrogen and Ni-based catalyst to a reactor, where it was hydrogenated to produce HDMA, an ingredient of nylon 66. The abrasive material caused the pumps to leak and require unscheduled maintenance resulting in product delays and operational inefficiency.
