SPX FLOW Achieves 100% Carbon-Free Status Through Innovative Partnership
Uusikaupunki, Finland, April 22, 2024 – SPX FLOW's Uutechnic mixer facility has embarked on a mission to conduct its mixer operations in conditions that are 100% carbon-free and nearly 100% powered by renewable energy sources. Located in Uusikaupunki, Finland, the company has established a partnership with VENI Energy Group, a leading provider of environmentally conscious electricity in Norway, Sweden, and Finland, to ensure sustainable and efficient operations. VENI Energy Group plays a crucial role in assisting customers in monitoring and reducing their carbon and energy footprint by ethically sourcing energy.
"It's crucial for us to be responsible corporate citizens, not only by sourcing sustainable parts but also by considering the sustainability of our production facilities,” said Paul Hällynen, Uutechnic Site Leader.
In an ever-changing market, producers are now correlating their sustainability goals with the technological solutions they use to make their products. For Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like SPX FLOW, sustainable actions can help customers achieve their sustainability goals.
Thanks to the partnership, the Uutechnic site has successfully reduced energy consumption by more than 126,000,000 watt-hours (Wh), equivalent to 724 running washing machines over the course of a year.

Additionally, the site plans to transition from an oil heat source to district heating fueled by underground hot water pipelines, expected to result in annual heat savings exceeding €20,000.
Uutechnic is one of five mixer brands within SPX FLOW, which also includes Lightnin, Stelzer, Plenty and Philadelphia. SPX FLOW’s industrial mixer business is the largest in the world.
