SW4 Series - Single Seat Valves
The SW4 series hygienic single seat flow control valve is highly versatile and fulfills the demands of today’s processing industries. The hygienic valve design makes it ideal for applications in dairy, processed foods, beverage, brewery, and chemical industries.
FEATURES
Advantages of the SW4 Single Seat Valve:
- Extra wall thickness of valve housing reduces stress in the seat area
- Wear resistant elastomer/PTFE shaft seal and bearings increase seal lifetime
- Installation and maintenance convenience
- Profile seals with marking for easy identification
- Metallic stop provides for defined compression of seat seal
- Ball shaped housing prevents sump or dome, reducing CIP cleaning times
- Clamp closure provides for quick and easy valve maintenance
- Many different housing configurations
- 3-A approved
All product-wetted parts are made of AISI 316 L / 1.4404 (DIN EN 100888) stainless steel. Seal materials are EPDM (standard), HNBR, FPM (options)

How does a single seat control valve work ?
Single seat control valves are used in a variety of processing applications to shut-off and to change over processing lines. The operation to close or open the valve (by moving the valve stem) is performed by a pneumatic actuator with air connection and reset by spring force.
The following designs are possible by way of different actuator assemblies:
- NC: Actuator normally closed / air-to-raise, spring-to-lower
- NO: Actuator normally open / air-to-lower, spring-to-raise
The standard SW4 design is equipped with a control unit CU4 Direct Connect. The luminous diodes in the control unit indicate the position of the valve shaft.
